You could find yourself in a seriously dangerous situation if you are caught in a thunderstorm on a highway with poorly working windshield wipers. Your visibility will be greatly reduced and it will put you at a greater risk of being involved in a collision!

When you are applying for your motor insurance, the company will take the overall condition of your vehicle into account. The more well maintained your vehicle is, the higher your chance of obtaining a lower premium. It is also simply the wisest thing to do, to keep your car in good condition, as you will land up spending less on repairs later on, and will always greatly reduce your chances of an accident, where you or someone you care about can be gravely injured.
